Captains update 13/10

Hi all

Pairs Head
The first Head race (our favourite one) of the season is upon us. We have six crews racing. Racing starts at 3pm, please pop down to the club to help or cheer. J is organising the infamous BBQ and cake stall, many hands and all that.

We’re all later in the pack:

362 W.IM1.2- Donnelly/Bagley (MAA composite)
374 W.MasB.2x Powell/Janss Lafond (with new recruit Leah)
393 W.IM3.2x Leow/Sargent
415 W.IM3.LWT.2x Owen/Baldwin (last year’s winners of their category)
446 W.MasD/E/G.2x Rayner/Darling (Thames composite)
452 W.MasD/E/G.2x Telsnig/Jarman

Good luck to all the crews racing.

New Novice squad members
With the completion of the ‘Get fit and row’ course we have 24 new members of the Novice squad. If you see new faces around the club please give them a warm BBL welcome.

We held a Get fit and row graduation brunch last weekend which was a great success (apart from the mix up with certificates – sorry about that ladies). We’ll definitely be organising something similar soon post weekend outings.

With the novice squad being a very healthy size we need help with organising outing. Particularly coxes. I’m devising a coxing course and looking to recruit coxes into the club, if you know anyone who would be interested please put them in touch. In the meantime, I’ve created (yet another) volunteer sheet. Please volunteer for an outing every few weeks/months it would much appreciated. Follow the link below to sign up.

Hoping for sun shine and low wind on the weekend…
